A Message from President Denise M. Trauth
June 30, 2021
Dear Faculty and Staff,
On February 2, 2021, I announced that Texas State University was in a position to provide a three-percent bonus to eligible employees this year tied to our performance management and salary review processes. Today, I write to share even better news: Texas State is now able to make this a permanent salary adjustment rather than a one-time bonus. We are able to do this now thanks to the fact that freshmen enrollment for the fall is looking good, approaching pre-pandemic levels, and thanks to the 87th Texas Legislature’s recent restoration of the five percent budget cut that Texas State took in the spring of 2020.
As a reminder, salary increases for all eligible faculty and staff will be reflected in your October 1, 2021, paychecks. Additional details regarding the implementation of these raises will be distributed to supervisors by our Office of Human Resources later this summer.
I hope that this action demonstrates my appreciation for the good work that you are doing every day at Texas State. As I reflect on this past year, I am filled with such gratitude for your perseverance, dedication, and selfless acts. Because of you, our university remains strong, and I believe we are prepared to emerge from the pandemic better than ever. I am excited about our return to the in-person university experience we are known for this fall. Thank you, again, for all that you do for our students and for each other.
