A Message from President Denise M. Trauth

April 7, 2021

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Today, I am excited to give you the news so many of you have been waiting to receive. This fall, in-person classes and activities will be back in full force on our Texas State University Campuses, giving our students the college life experience for which we are known. This return to a more vibrant campus life is possible thanks to your dedication to keeping our university community healthy and safe, which will continue to be our priority moving forward.

To keep our community informed, and give you an opportunity to share your questions, I have scheduled a virtual Town Hall for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. In the Town Hall, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Emilio Carranco will share updates on the latest COVID-19 transmission patterns and the status of mass vaccinations. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gene Bourgeois will discuss how classes will be held in the summer and fall 2021 semesters. Vice President for University Advancement Dr. Barbara Breier will moderate a question and answer session.

You will receive an email reminder from University News Service, including a link to join the Town Hall. Following the Town Hall, an email will be sent to all students, faculty, and staff summarizing key points shared by university leaders at the event. A recording of the Town Hall will also be posted online and emailed to the university community. Please save the date to join me and other university leaders on April 20.
